House & Property History

House History Packages To Suit Every Requirement
My interest in property history began when I lived in an Edwardian semi-detached house in Buckinghamshire. It retained many of its historical features, such as cornices and fireplaces, and I wondered about the people who had lived there before me.
I provide a selection of packages, from digital reports rich with new stories about modern homes and where they were built, to expertly compiled books brimming with a wealth of information from centuries of archival and online historical sources.

Does your house date from 1945 to the present day? If so, I can help you discover more about its origins and the land on which it is built. Utilising a number of sources, including historic maps, newspaper articles and adverts, development plans, and historic land records, The Modern Home is a compact package compiled over ten hours, with five hours of research included.

Whatever the era in which your home was built, there may be many sources available that will allow you to learn about the extensive history of the property, and the people who lived, or even worked, there. This package is open-ended, where research will cover every aspect of your home where there is a source to investigate, whatever its era, and reports will document stories and knowledge that stretch across time.
The client is provided with ongoing digital reports at the end of each block of time booked, detailing the history of their home and the people who lived there. When you wish to conclude your house history, a full digital report, with frontispiece and contents page will be made available to you. If you would like a bound softback book, terms can be discussed at this time.
The cost of this package will be determined by the number of surviving sources, the age of the house, and the wishes of you, the client. The initial cost will be £600, with a deposit of £420. This will provide a twenty-hour service, with around ten hours of research carried out, and an interim digital report, containing detailed interpretation and analysis. Full payment is required before the release of each report.
